Maxine's is a restored 1880's ballroom, located in Independence's downtown historic district, on the corner of Main Street and C. Street.
Built originally as a Masonic hall, then used as an Odd Fellows lodge for decades, Maxine's Ballroom is now privately owned and available for your special event.
Maxine's has been completely restored to turn-of-the-century splendor, and is a perfect site for ballroom dances, luncheons, birthdays, meetings, retreats, classes, weddings and anniversaries. A caterer's staging area/warming kitchen (not a commercial kitchen) is available, as are banquet tables and chairs for up to 49 people.
Maxine's may be rented by the hour during the day, prior to 6pm. After 6pm the ballroom is available by the evening, up to 12pm. (For more information, see Rental Contract and Rental Rates). (Maximum occupancy is 49).

The building that houses Maxine's is located at the corner of Main and C. Street in Independence, and Maxine's street entrance is at 120 C. Street.

From Salem, Take Hwy 22 West for about 5 miles. Turn left onto Hwy 51 towards Independence. Proceed along Hwy 51 for about 5 miles to downtown Independence. Turn right at C. Street. Maxine's door is the second from the corner.
From Corvallis, Take 99W to Monmouth. Turn right onto Hwy 51 (aka Monmouth Street). Proceed about 2 miles to Independence, to the flashing red light at the âTâ intersection with Main Street. Turn left onto Main Street, and turn left again one block later, onto âCâ St. Maxine's door is the second from the corner.
